Which safari is free at AK?

    Hi Briana,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm happy to share my tips on what to see and do at Animal Kingdom. While there are special tours and behind-the-scenes experiences available for an additional cost, you'll find all the regular rides, entertainment and attractions at Animal Kingdom included in admission. You won't want to miss Kilimanjaro Safaris, where you ride across the savanna to view giraffes, lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos and lots more. I'd even recommend doing it twice if you have the chance: during the day when you can see far across the plains and again after dark, when it's a whole new experience. I'd suggest using a FastPass+ reservation for the safari to minimize your wait time.

Other animal-themed attractions I recommend at Animal Kingdom include the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Both are attractions you walk through at your own pace. On a recent trip, my family spent about a half hour watching two young gorillas wrestle and play on the Exploration Trail. Other times, we've lingered in front of the prowling tigers on the Jungle Trek.

When our children were small, we never missed a visit to Rafiki's Planet Watch, where you can learn about the animals at Conservation Station and pet them at Affection Station. Sometimes, you'll even find Rafiki himself there.

I hope that helps with your planning, Briana. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you. Enjoy your visit!
