Hi! Running the Star Wars half & coming w/ young toddler, husband and my mom. When would be best time to visit parks? Before or after race day? Prefer less crowded for toddler. Also- any family-friendly pre & post race parties? & chEAR squad w/

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Congratulations on registering for the inaugural Stars Wars Half Marathon Weekend presented by Sierra Nevada Corporation! I hope you are looking forward to the Disneyland® Resort hosting such an out-of-this-world event.

My advice on visiting the theme parks during a runDisney race event would be to enjoy them post-race. Disneyland® Resort is a walking resort, so you'll be getting a lot of foot activity in before you actually have to run, possibly wearing yourself out before the big day. Additionally, most race participants head out the Monday following a race, also putting crowd levels in your favor for post-race.

Also, if you're wanting to add a little bit of extra magic to your family race weekend, The Star Wars Wookiee Welcome Party is where it's at! This family-friendly, pre-race private party will be held in Tomorrowland and feature character meet & greets, access to select Tomorrowland attractions and dessert reception. This party is definitely a fun way to start off a magical race-cation, but act fast, this event is currently 87% sold-out!

ChEAR Squad is also a great way to add more magic with your miles. Additionally, the Platinum Package will be a great option for your family while you are running! With food, private restrooms and comfortable finish-line seating area, your family can enjoy the experience too.

I hope this is helpful! Please do not hesitate to ask me any additional questions you may have as you plan and prepare to run in a galaxy far, far away.

May the course be with you!
