    Christina from MI Asked

Running my first half marathon next month at W&D. On the runDisney site, it says that the use of headphones is discouraged. Is there anything played along the course if I run without them? Thanks!

    HI Christina!

The Wine and Dine Half Marathon is my very favorite runDisney race!  I think you are going to love it and instantly be a runDisney fanatic:)

You're right that they discourage headphones during races for safety reasons.  You will still see people wearing them on the course.

Personally, I do wear mine because I use an interval timer app on my phone that I would have a hard time hearing if I didn't have ear buds in.  There is some music playing along the course, as well as other entertainment.  It isn't constant, but there is at least something every mile.

Sometimes I turn some music on when I feel like I need it, but I either keep it very low, or take one ear bud out completely so that I am aware of my surroundings.

I just finished the Tower of Terror 10-Miler and didn't use any music.  The entertainment and park time on the course was plenty to keep me going!  The Wine and Dine course is even better, so I think you will be fine either way:)

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
