I want to run the DW 1/2 Marathon with my 14yo. I ran W&D last year, but the online queue was nerve wrecking and the race sold out quick. Can I ensure both my son and I get registered?

    Hi Jamie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I understand your concern, but I'm glad to tell you I think runDisney and Active have smoothed out a lot of the kinks you may have experienced in past years!

While there isn't a sure-fire way to guarantee runDisney registration, there are little tips and tricks that can make your registration as simple as possible. Please note that you will have to complete two separate registrations because you can only register one person at a time. They will both be completed in your account though, since your son is a minor.

    1. Create an Active.com account. This way when you register your information will automatically populate, including credit card information, meaning registration should take you less than 1 minute per person.
    2. Be ready to go February 14th at noon EST. While the system has been overwhelmed in the past, at the end of the day folks that are ready to go right when it go on sale, rarely miss out simply by being prepared!
    3. Just register, go back for other things later! In years past, I've driven myself nuts trying to get my proof of time in or making sure I don't forget to purchase my commemorative pin. Once I realized I could do this all at a later date, my registrations were much easier! You can now go back in your Active account and easily update your proof of time moments after you register. This way you don't forget and it's still in there, but you don't waste time!

The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is going to be very popular in 2018 with the 25th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Marathon and the 5th Anniversary of the Dopey Challenge, but I think if you use these few pointers you'll be fine!
