Have the rules for rider switch and fast passes recently changed? Does each adult need a fast pass to use rider switch? We have children 13, 10, & 4 and are trying to plan around attractions the 4 yr old will be too small for.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jennifer! Rider Switch is a lovely service that my family uses each and every time we visit Walt Disney World. With my baby girl being tall enough to ride Goofy’s Barnstormer, we still have a ways to go until she’s tall enough for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

While the rules for Rider Switch haven’t changed the process has tweaked a little bit due to the addition of the digital process. I love this new paperless method; it’s more earth friendly and you can’t lose your paper. You’ll still approach the Cast Member at the queue with your family to ask for Rider Switch. Group 1 will ride first, only using the FP+ queue if they have a FP+ reservation for that time. Otherwise they can use the standby queue. The chaperone can ride later with two other buddies, using the FP+ as a compliment. You can really stretch the use of your FP+ if you plan wisely.

If I can help you find more preschool age activities for your little one while the big kids ride the thrills, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
