How is Royal Plaza at Lake Buena Vista? Are the rooms nice? How does bus transportation to parks work?

    Cynthia,

So the Royal Plaza has recently been refurbished, and I think it has a really nice decor/feel. It exemplifies relaxed elegance. The rooms are comparatively spacious, and your proximity to Downtown Disney is a real plus.

If I was looking for a "con", I would say that the pool is pretty small. But it is not a bad pool, just not huge.

The buses (free for hotel guests) run every half hour to all four parks. Typically they hit more than one park, as opposed to having four parks going to four separate parks. You are going to get a longer transportation time to a park than you would in a Disney resort, but with some basic planning you will find it is not a huge impairment. Certainly I think that as with every bus service, there is a bit of waiting and riding. But you can use it to save money on car rental or cab fees. That is a pretty notable savings.

Overall, I would say it is a good choice, especially if you are on an adult-only trip. But even with kids it is good, if only for the larger rooms that make it easier for families to spread out!

    Have a magical vacation!
