Do any of the rides have weight limits? One member of our party is obese and if there are weight limits, we'd prefer to know before arriving and having this member embarrassed by being turned away from a ride.

Hello Martha, and thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with an important question.

I am so happy to hear that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort soon. I have to say this issue is often a concern for myself as I am a Pooh sized guest as well. For the most part guests of all sizes are able to enjoy a majority of all rides and attractions within the Walt Disney World Resort. However, some ride vehicles may be more comfortable than others for a guest of size.

The only time I may experience an issue is when it comes to thrill rides. In the interest of safety and comfort of all guests, certain rides and attractions may not allow guests over a certain height or in my case width, not necessarily weight, to enjoy an experience. I always make it a point to read the safety instructions posted at the ride entrances for an attraction that I may not have experienced before. There may be other safety warnings that apply to members of your group as well. I would recommend a guest check with a Cast Member before boarding certain thrill rides, just in case. There are some attractions, like Avatar - Flight of Passage, that have a sample seat at the entrance that guests can test out before entering the Standby or FastPass+ line. Since this is a high thrill ride, a Cast Member would be happy to assist guests with any questions you may have before boarding. Keep in mind that Disney’s first priority is the safety of all guests and that ride experiences are magical for all to enjoy.

    See ya real soon,
    Andrea
