Which rides should we make sure to stay away from with a child who has a fear of heights? She is okay going back down. She did panic that last time she walked up to a high ride. Thank you.

    Hi Amanda,

How old is your daughter?  If heights are the only issue to consider (not age or her personal height), then be sure to steer clear of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney's Hollywood Studios.  I can't imagine that being dropped down an elevator shaft would appeal to her.

She may find the drop on Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom intimidating as well.  Parts of Peter Pan's Flight (in the same park) also ride high above the ground, although the boarding area is not high at all.  The railway cars on Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom are visibly high too.

By far, the most terrifying high ride in all of Walt Disney World is Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach.  Normally heights don't bother me but that one did.

If you want to read a preview of Walt Disney World's scariest rides (so that you can avoid them with your daughter), go to the article I wrote on the Orbitz blog.  Type in www.orbtiz.com/blog and then search "Summertime Shrieking."  The article will pop right up.

Wishing you and your daughter a magical vacation!  Thanks for posting your question to the Moms Panel.
