Are rides shut down due to slight rain or heavy rain without lighting. The week we are going it is raining each day. How does this work with our FPS if rides are cancelled due to rain? Also how does this work in water parks with rain?

Hi there, Gloria! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop back by and asking another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort question!

As you may know, rainy days are not at all uncommon in central Florida! I have had many vacations at Walt Disney World Resort in which it rained for the entirety of my trip. However, I strongly believe that you can still have a magical trip regardless of stormy weather!

Closures due to weather largely depend on the attraction. Certain attractions that may be impacted back wetter weather will close even in light rain while others will close if there is lightning within the area. There are also many indoor attractions, such as The Hall of Presidents, that are seldom ever impacted by the weather and can be great spots to hide out from the rain!

If you and your family have FastPass+ reservations for an attraction that has closed due to weather conditions, you will be issued another FastPass+ reservation that may be used at a later time. Generally, you will be given until the end of the day to redeem this FastPass+ reservation. This way, you can still experience the attraction at a later time!

Closures at the Disney Water Parks work very similarly. Both Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park do not close due to light rain but will close attractions or the entire water park due to lightning or extreme weather conditions.

I hope this information will assist you in continuing to plan for your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
