How does rider swap work? We have a one year old that we will be doing rider swap with?

    Hi Michelle!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Rider Switch is one of the most important things that makes my family's Walt Disney World Resort vacations fun for my entire family. Since we have a preschooler who is big enough for the "big kid" rides and a toddler who isn't quite tall enough yet, the Rider Switch program allows everyone in the family have a great day! Your entire party will need to head to the beginning of the attraction queue and let the Cast Member know that you will be using Rider Switch because of your little one. They will direct the first group in your party to enter the queue and allow the second group in your party to enjoy other areas of the theme park with your little one. The first group enjoying the attraction will be given a Rider Switch pass that they will give to the second group after the attraction is over. The second group will present the Rider Switch pass to the Cast Member at the FastPass+ queue entrance to the attraction so they can enjoy it and bypass the longer wait in the Standby queue. In my family, since my husband or myself waited alone with my youngest son, my oldest son actually gets to enjoy the attraction with both of us! And during all of this time, my youngest son gets to do his own fun things like enjoy other attractions, meet a character, see a show, visit the Baby Care Center or have a special treat. Everyone gets to have a good time in the park and my little guy doesn't have to wait in the queue for an attraction he won't be riding!

Please let us know if you have any other questions. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!

Hi! I’m Crystal and I’m a wife and mommy to two little Mouseketeers. My husband and I have been enjoying Disney Parks since before we were married, and now we take our children to see Mickey and the gang as often as we can, while  managing my oldest son's food allergies. Planning is key for my family to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun trip to our favorite place and it can be just as exciting as the trip itself. I can’t wait to help you plan your next adventure there, too! Learn More About Crystal
