How do you ride attractions with a 1 year old? Where do they sit for lap bars?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Crystal! I think it's so exciting that you've got a trip planned with your family and that your little Mouseketeer gets to tag along as well. There is so much fun to be had for preschoolers and little ones and it's going to be so special getting to experience the magic for the first time again through her eyes!

Walt Disney World Resort is such a fun destination for families because there's so much that you're able to do all together. There are more than 80 attractions that your little one will be able to enjoy with you so be sure to check out this list so you can plan out your time! If you're going to be riding one of these attractions with an infant or small toddler, they will be able to sit comfortably on your lap even if there is a lap bar. On attractions where there is a restraint system, like Peter Pan's Flight or Haunted Mansion, the bar will lower automatically to your lap with plenty of room for your child to ride comfortably. Cast Members in the queue will be happy to answer any questions you have in the moment about riding with your baby, and they'll also give you instructions when you board to make sure that everyone has a safe ride!

Since you'll be traveling with kids that are in different age groups, I want to make sure that you know about the Rider Switch system while you're making your plans. If you and your husband and your older daughter want to enjoy some attractions that your youngest isn't quite ready for, like Space Mountain or Avatar - Flight of Passage, you'll be able to do that while making sure that someone is always around to watch the baby. You and your daughter can ride the attraction while your husband takes care of the little one, and then your daughter can ride again with your husband using the FastPass+ queue so your family doesn't have to wait in line twice! That way, no one has to miss out on any of the more thrilling attractions with height requirements while you're traveling with a toddler.

    Have a magical day, Crystal!
