Is the T Rex Cake too scary for a 3 year old? TY

Hi Rita, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

T-Rex Cafe at the newly reimagined Disney Springs transports you to prehistoric times, when dinosaurs, including the mighty T-Rex himself, ruled the Earth. As you might imagine, that means lots of big, toothy dinosaurs chomping, screeching, roaring and generally doing their dino thing during your meal. T-Rex Cafe will remind you of its sister restaurant, Rainforest Cafe, with its chattering animals and occasional thunderstorm lighting things up. While they're big and loud, the dinos do stay put - nothing will jump out at you or move toward you. However, a young child who is bothered by very loud noises or large characters may have a hard time with all the activity in this restaurant.

Having said that, if your little one can manage the noise and the large figures, T-Rex Cafe can be a lot of fun. When my son was very young, we enjoyed places like T-Rex Cafe and Rainforest Cafe because the noisy atmosphere kept him occupied and actually served to drown out some of his own little-kid rambunctiousness!

There are lots of reviews and photos of the restaurant posted online. A quick search may help you make a decision. Certainly, I'd err on the side of caution if you feel your child may be frightened by the over-the-top theming inside.

I hope this helps with your planning, Rita. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions.

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
