We are returning to WDW for the 4 year in a row, each year my kids are disapointed about not being chosen to paricipate in the parades. How are children who ride on the floats chosen Guest services was not very helpful last year. They told us it was random

Sorry that we can't be any more helpful than guest services. Children are pulled out of the crowds totally randomly to participate in parades and other events. There's really nothing you can do to influence this.

We have a situation in our house where our oldest daughter has been selected for several special experiences: she got to ride in Dumbo with Minnie, she lead the band at the Biergarten in Epcot, and she was pulled out of the crowd to wave the wand to open Fantasyland. This sounds great, but her younger sisters have never been selected for anything. Needless to say there's a bit of jealousy in the house. We keep hoping that eventually it will all even out, but there is nothing we can do to change the situation.
