I am returning to disney for my 12 year wedding anniversary. I am bringing my 6 and 9 year old for there first visit. I am a brittle diabetic on an insulin pump and am concerned about long lines and heat . what are your suggestions

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Laurie ~

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary! If you are unable to wait in a standby queue due to your medical condition, stop by Guest Relations at one of the theme parks and request a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card. They will ask you some questions to get an understanding of your needs and take your photo for the card so be prepared for it to take a few minutes. Cast Members (CMs) will go over all of the terms and conditions of the DAS.

Once you obtain a DAS, you can go to an attraction and see a CM at the entrance to get a return time to enter the FASTPASS (FP) or other alternate entrance if necessary. The CM will fill in the information regarding your return time. You will not have to be present to get a return time for attractions but must be present when entering the queue and boarding the attraction. The DAS differs from a FP in that there is no window return time so there is no pressure to make it back within a certain time frame. Guests are encouraged to use FASTPASS when available.

You can only obtain a return time for one attraction at a time but you can get another DAS return time as soon as you've finish one. FP and FastPass+ can be used in addition to the DAS so that will help as well. During your wait, you could grab a snack, watch a parade or show.

Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS that may be helpful for you.

If you have any medications that need to be refrigerated during the day, you can visit a First Aid location in the parks and a nurse will be happy to assist you. Just make sure they are in their original containers and all clearly labeled with your information.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
