Returning to Disney this October and would like to do a dinner show this time. Which would be best to take a 16 yr old boy and a 2 yr old boy to? I was thinking that Mickey's Backyard BBQ would be best, but I'm just not sure.

    Marlana,

I'm biased.  I admit this up front.  However, I absolutely love the Hoop-De-Doo Revue (and so does my family!)  My daughters are now 3, 5 and 7 and this is a must-do for us.  It is hands-down our favorite Disney dinner show, and we like it so much that we won't even go back to the others.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ offers really great character interaction, which I think your 2-year-old would love.  The children dance and play with the characters and they get a lot more personal time together than they do at ordinary character meals.  However, I do feel it is a more young-child oriented event and I'm afraid your 16-year-old son might be bored.  The thrill is wearing off for my 7-year-old.

The HDD, on the other hand, is a draw for children of all ages.  The food is excellent, the service is fun, and the some is hysterical.  Though we've seen it a dozen times and almost know it by heart, we never fail to laugh and get into the spirit.  It's corny, campy, good family fun, and I highly recommend visiting at least once.
