    Brandy from TX Asked

Since the resorts require you pay for parking now does that cost also include parking at the theme parks? We plan on driving ourselves to Hollywood studios instead of using Disney transportation and I do not want to end up paying for parking twice.

Hey there, Brandy. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I think you'll be happy to know that as a Guest at any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you'll receive complimentary standard parking at any Walt Disney World Theme Park. When you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios, for instance, the parking attended will need to scan your MagicBand to verify your reservation and then you'll be on your way. If you wish to upgrade to preferred parking, only then would you need to pay the upgraded difference. My family and I often drive ourselves to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks as well. It's nice to be able to just hop in and go when you are ready. I like to pack a small cooler of bottled water and sodas to leave in the car for a cold beverage after returning to the car. Sometimes the parking lots can be very hot, so it's great to have something waiting for us. If you end up choosing to take the complimentary transportation to the parks, you can actually see the bus schedule on your My Disney Experience App, so be sure to have that downloaded to your smartphone before your trip.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
