    Janelle from GA Asked

Which resort pools offer a smaller sized water slide (for the little ones) In addition to the large (big kid/adult friendly!) water slides?

    Hi Janelle!

I've stayed or visited every Disney owned and operated resort at Walt Disney World and the only ones that come to mind are:  Beach and Yacht Club, Sanaa, and Port Orleans.  However, I could easily be missing one or two.

The Beach and Yacht Club share Stormalong Bay.  Both resorts are Disney Deluxe Resorts.  Without a doubt, Stormalong Bay is the best pool on property.  It's a sand bottom pool with a gigantic water slide.  There's also a smaller water slide for very young guests at the base and to the rear of the larger water slide.  There's also a sand island in the middle of the pool for young guests to make sand castles on.  My youngest child absolutely loved the pool when he was 5 and didn't want to leave.  For older guests, there's also a lazy river that's isn't so lazy at the pool!

Sanaa is the Disney Vacation Club portion of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but it's open to anybody.  Guests staying there stay in Disney Deluxe Villas.  It has a great pool with water slide and a fabulous children water play area.  It's a great way to spend a hot afternoon!

Port Orleans is really two sister resorts:  Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter.  Port Orleans is a Disney Moderate Resort.  The French Quarter pool has a small water slide that I think is great for younger children.  The Port Orleans pool has a very nice water slide; in fact, it's larger than the water slides at a lot of Deluxe Resorts.  As a guest of either Riverside or French Quarter, you can hop to the other pool.  However, the two pools are not close to each other if you were looking for one pool with two water slides.  You can walk or take a boat between the two hotels.  My oldest son and I did this a couple of years ago because we wanted to try out the French Quarter pool.

Good luck with your decision and write back if you have any more questions!
