Which resort hotel would you suggest for two adults and a 16 years old to stay for a week at WDW?

You first want to look at your budget. WDW offers 3 levels of pricing:  value, moderate, & deluxe. If you are thinking you'll be needing just a place to sleep, the value resorts are a perfect fit. The amenities are limited, but you still have all the perks of being a Disney guest. The deluxe resorts will offer you a wide variety of amenities, bigger rooms, & more dining options; they are also located closer to the parks. The moderates are a great compromise between the deluxe & value resorts.
And if you weren't already a bit overwhelmed, there are also deluxe villas. What is nice about these is that you could have more space, which your teenager may enjoy (thinking of mine as I write this). Two bathrooms for us is a blessing!
I'd start by exploring the above links to see which room rate best fits your budget; when exploring, you can also see the wide variety of theming and amenities. Once you have things narrowed down a bit, please come back with more questions. We are happy to talk about pros/cons of different resorts.  Deciding on a resort is an overwhelming experience that we have all experienced. It's just tough to say "I recommend this resort" without knowing more about your budget and tastes.
By the way, I don't know when you are planning on visiting WDW, but you do want to check the Special Offers, which may help with your decision making.
