Hi Moms, I will be reserving a WDW package for late June just before the 30 day fast pass booking window for off site guests opens. How soon after I book my reservation will I have the access I need to book fast passes? I have not used FP+ before.

Hi, Millicent! Thanks for stopping by with your question.

While I usually try to book our Resort hotel reservations at least six months in advance, I did recently decide to do a last-minute long weekend trip with my daughter. I booked this reservation online 32 days before my check-in date. While the Resort hotel reservation did not immediately appear in My Disney Experience, I clicked the button to Link Resort Reservation and added it myself. Once my Resort stay was a part of My Disney Experience, the FastPass+ system opened for me, allowing me to grab some great times for our favorite rides. I was so glad I did decide to complete the hotel reservation before that 30-day window opened for all Guests, as the early FastPass+ returns for our favorite attraction were all claimed by the time the window opened.

From completion of Resort hotel reservation to beginning FastPass+ selections, I would say it only took me less than five minutes to link, so I think it is fairly safe to say that your access is pretty instantaneous. However, you know how computer systems can go, especially when that silly alien, Stitch, gets loose and makes some tasks a little more difficult than necessary. Make sure that you have theme park tickets also linked to your My Disney Experience account. You will not be able to make FastPass+ selections without those tickets!

I hope this helps you with your planning, Millicent. Please stop by if you have any more questions before your trip!
