We have reservations for Sept 29-Oct 4. I am trying to make ADRs, but all of the character dining slots are already booked! We will be celebrating our son's 3rd birthday and he wants to eat with Mickey. Any advice?

    Hi Stacey:

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am sorry you have not yet been able to secure your Advanced Dining Reservations, I have found that it is getting more difficult to secure reservations if you do not book right at the 180 day mark.  Even with that being said, do not give up.  I suggest to keep checking as often as possible as reservations do open up when other guests cancel.  Try looking for times that are off peak, either early or later in the day.  I find that between a week and the day before you would like the dining reservation is the best time to check, as guests will cancel the reservations they do not want in order to avoid cancelation fees.  If by the time you leave for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation you have not yet secured your reservation, stop by the concierge desk upon your arrival at your Disney Resort, they may be able to help.  As a last resort, on the day you wish to dine, visit the dining location as early as possible to see if there are any spots available for the day.

After doing a quick search, I found that Cape May Cafe has some availability for breakfast during your stay.  Before you get too excited, Mickey is not usually there, although Donald, Goofy and Minnie do make regular appearances.  It may be better than nothing, and if you manage to secure another reservation with Mickey, you can always cancel Cape May Cafe.

I hope you will be able to secure the dining reservations you would like to celebrate your son's birthday Stacey.  Please let me know if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help.
