If I make reservations for say like at Epcot but we do not choose the park hopper because we have a 4 year old didn't really think it would help us. If we are at Magic Kingdom will be be able to go to Epcot to eat that night?

Hi, Donna! No, you will not be able to enter Epcot without a ticket for the theme park. Since you will have activated your non-Park Hopper ticket at the Magic Kingdom that is the only park you can visit that day.  You will need to make your dining reservations in the park that you have chosen to attend that day.  You will not be able to enter a park without a ticket, even with an Advance Dining Reservation.   Another great option for your travel party is to make reservations at any of the wonderful Walt Disney World Resort Hotel restaurants. Since those do not require theme park admission, you can visit those whenever you like.   Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
