Hi, we will have reservations at ohana for breakfast. And going to magic Kingdom for the day. If we drive to the polynesian for breakfast can we leave the car and take the monorail to magic kingdom for the day? And leave our car at Poly. till end of day?

    Hi Karen,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I had the same question when I visited the delicious Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this Spring – I actually texted it to my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists and had them research it for me while I was at Walt Disney World!

Here’s the scoop: while Guests are currently welcome to park at Walt Disney World Resort hotels for free if they are visiting to dine or to check out the resort, the length of that visit should be no longer than a few hours. After three hours, your car is eligible to be towed if you are not a Guest staying at that resort. I do not recommend risking it, because who wants to deal with a towed car while on vacation? Not magical!

You have a couple of options. One is to park your car in the Magic Kingdom Park lot and then take the resort monorail to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for your breakfast. The other (and this is what my family did) is to park at the hotel for breakfast and then have the driver return to the vehicle, drive to the Magic Kingdom parking lot, and then head to Magic Kingdom Park on either ferryboat or monorail. The rest of the party can head to Magic Kingdom Park after breakfast using either the monorail or boat service, and can meet the driver when he or she arrives. When we did this, my daughter and husband parked the car, and it was only about 25 minutes later that my son and I met them inside Magic Kingdom Park (we took the opportunity to take a few PhotoPass photos and wander some shops).

Enjoy your ‘Ohana breakfast, Karen! My favorite part (aside from the delicious food) is the sweet parade that takes place throughout the morning around the restaurant. Jump up and be a kid again and join the fun!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
