We have our reservations made at Disney World for March 2017, but now I don't know where to begin with Fast Pass, Advanced Dining Reservations, and activities available for a 5 year old! I am a little overwhelmed.

    Hi Sherry,

You have come to the right place. I know planning a magical Walt Disney World vacation can be stressful, especially when you are wanting to pack as much magic and wonder in for your little one. However, the key is to know going into it that you will not possibly see everything, so start with a few top must see or dos and go from there.

I highly suggest at least one character meal. If you decide to do more, great, but he/she will enjoy that first special character meal, not matter what! My kids's pics for this are Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare. Both have an extensive and hearty buffet and both even offer a "kid's buffet" with favorites at their level. My family likes to do only one table service meal a day. Since these meals take more time, we do not want to limit any more time playing in the parks than we have to. My must-dos for table service are The Biergarten in Germany at Epcot. There is entertainment by traditional Bavarian musicians and a fantastic buffet that my kids always love. Another fun place is 50s Prime Time Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios. When choosing quick service, those do not require reservations, so you could wait until you are there to cease the moment and choose.

FastPass+ selections can be overwhelming, too, but here is what I would suggest. Get a guide book at your local bookstore. One I suggest is Birnbaum's Walt Disney World (official guide). It has great descriptions of each and every ride. The attractions that offer FastPass+ will be noted. After reading, choose the ones that would appeal to your child's likes and interests.

There are interactive activities such as Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Pirates League in Magic Kingdom and Kidcot Fun Stops in Epcot.

I've run out of room, but feel free to come back with more questions.
