We have reservations at the Fort Wilderness Resort in February 2017; we are taking our 5 1/2 year old Grandson. Because there are SO many things to do, we would like advice on narrowing our plans to our Grandson's age level. Thank you.

Hi Sharen! What a wonderful vacation you will be enjoying soon with your grandson. I am sure he is excited and is counting down the days until you arrive.

The Fort Wilderness Resort is a favorite place for my family as we love the wide range of activities and fun that happen right there. Definitely plan on spending time at the resort to enjoy the amenities such as swimming, pony rides, fishing, Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong and so much more. This resort also has many playground areas throughout the campsites and a large one near the marina.

As far as the parks go there are great things to enjoy in each. The Magic Kingdom should be your main interest as almost every attraction in this park is one that your grandson will enjoy. It is a short boat ride from Fort Wilderness which makes it even more fun for a child to be able to enjoy a boat ride. There are a few attractions with height restrictions and those are generally the thrill type rides such as Space Mountain roller coaster. This park is so magical to all ages but especially to the younger ones. There are character meet and greets all throughout the park as well as through the FastPass options. Make sure your grandson has a few of those in the plans. There is also character dining but those book up quickly at 180 days out so you might not be able to find an opening at this late date.

Another park that young children enjoy is Animal Kingdom but all parks will have activities and attractions for the younger guests so be sure and take a look on the website of all that they have to offer.
