We have reservations at the Fort Wilderness cabins in a few months. I like the cabin idea since we have four children (ages 8 to 16) and will use the kitchen to save some money. Can you suggest a loop which is close to the bus system yet still quiet?

    Michelle:

Love, love, love the cabins at Fort Wilderness! And I can empathize, as I have four children, too, just a little younger than yours. You'll really enjoy the extra "living" space that the outdoor deck gives the kids, also.

TIP: storage space is at a minimum in the cabins. We kept the younger kids' clothes in their suitcases and tucked them under the beds at night like a trundle drawer. And with one bathroom, boys showered at night and girls in the morning!

On to your question! There are positives and negatives to being near the bus stop. If you're too close, you'll hear it until well after midnight, stopping and starting the brakes... If you want to be near it, just make a request on your reservation and, although Disney doesn't guarantee it, you'll at least have a good chance not to be put in the back of your loop. The backs of loops 2200 and 2400 ease up to the main thoroughfare, and 2100 backs up very close to one of the RV loops, so these need to be scratched off your list. They're wonderful if you're looking for access to the main pool, but some cabins are noisier.

Loops 2300 & 2500 are quiet, but don't have many trees. This leaves 2600, 2700, and 2800 to request. All have trees and 2800 has a bus stop located near its entrance.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
