    Gail from TX Asked

Hi! We're renting the GG umbrella for our first visit to Typhoon Lagoon. Can you see the water & slides from where the seating area is located? From the photos I can find online the area looks secluded & tucked away from everything

Hey there, Gail. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask me a question about your upcoming vacation!

I am really excited to know that you'll be visiting Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park for your first time! It is my very favorite place to beat the Florida heat. I've been known to wake up super early and make the 8 hour drive just to spend one day there. It's so much fun.

I think you are really going to enjoy renting the Getaway Glen Umbrellas during your visit.  Included in your rental you'll be able to enjoy:
    • A beach umbrella
    • 2 reserved loungers
    • 2 beach chairs
    • A drink table
    • Towels
This private oasis can accommodate up to 4 Guests. Just like the name implies, this is going to be a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the water park. The umbrellas are nestled away in the same private sandy areas as the Beachcomber Shacks. Most of the Getaway Glen Umbrellas will be located near Castaway Creek which is a quiet area near the lazy river. The creek runs behind this area and while I wouldn't say you have a view of it, you can definitely see it through the lush landscape. There are also a few Getaway Glen Umbrellas located on an overlook near the Surf Pool. These are going to provide you with more of a view of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park but are located in a busier section of the park. If you are wanting a view, this would probably be the area to request. Both areas are close to food and beverage options, which is convenient when you get that snack attack.

Getaway Glen Umbrellas are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. While it is possible to rent them the day you arrive, I highly suggest calling and reserving ahead of time. Payment is due in full when your reservation is made but you can receive a full refund if you cancel with at least 24 hours notice.

I hope this helps, Gail. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask. Enjoy your water park visit!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
