We have rented DVC points for our upcoming trip to WDW in Oct 2010. We want to get the dining plan, park tickets and tickets to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween. Do we have to contact the DVC member to make the purchase for us? Do they get discounts? TY

Hi, Kyle!  If you have rented points from a Disney Vacation Club member, you would have to book things like Magical Express and any resort packages and dining plans through the member.  While there are DVC discounts for some things (like on tickets for select nights at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party), those discounts are only available to the member directly.

If you are not purchasing a package, you can purchase your own theme park tickets and tickets to special events like the Halloween party.  Tickets can be booked through the website at www.disneyworld.com

Keep in mind that when you rent points from a DVC member, you may not qualify for some promotions.  Disney Vacation Club members are not eligible for the free dining promotion, for example, as it requires a paid hotel stay.  You also have limited housekeeping services while staying in a villa using DVC points.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
