do they rent tents out in fort wilderness

Hi Christian! It sounds like you are contemplating a great Disney vacation at the Fort Wilderness Resort. The campgrounds are so peaceful and full of fun things to see and do. The local residents of deer and turkey often grace your site making it seem like you are truly in the wilderness and not just steps away from the Mickey magic of the parks.

The official policy about renting camping equipment at Fort Wilderness is that it is done for groups of 20 or more who will be staying at their group camp area. However, many guests have called Fort Wilderness and have arranged for tents and cots to be rented for their vacation. This is done if they have the equipment available. The cost of a tent rental is $30 a night and a cot is $4 a night so none of this is inexpensive when you add it on the site cost per night as well. But for many it is still below the budget and a fun way to experience a family vacation.

There is a Trading Post where simple foods can be purchased as well as charcoal and campfire needs. Bug spray, sun repellent, and other necessities can also be purchased at the store. If you have a car then heading to a local grocery store is better as the choices will be far more.

Tent campers receive the same perks as those with RV's and those staying in any Walt Disney World resort. You receive Magic Bands, can get your dining at 180 days out, and FastPasses at 60 days out. We bring our motor coach every year to Fort Wilderness and we love this resort!
