If we get a renovated room at Pop century, is there enough room to keep Murphy bed down and fit at ecv in the room? Constantly putting up and down a bed won't be easy for someone handicapped. Suggestions?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jacalyn! I’m glad you’re hEAR! I just had the pleasure of staying in a refurbished Disney's Pop Century Resort hotel room and it was glorious! There was storage for days and the new furniture lines are sleek and clean.

I did notice that when the murphy bed was down (we had four Mousketeers in the room) there was less room, but it was still very manageable. I noted to another guest there was a place for a Pack N Play, but if you had your suitcases under the bed (the beds are raised specifically for this purpose) you could easily drive an ECV straight into the room towards the coffeemaker and fridge, parking alongside the window. If you should need your ECV for full room access, I would think about requesting an accessible room for this purpose. If your ECV is only for long distances, then parking at the window will serve you well. I found the Murphy Bed able to lower and raise with only one hand, as it is nicely counterweighted and extremely easy to use.

I hope you have a comfortable visit, and sleep sounded than Sleeping Beauty on the new queen size beds. If you have more questions, please ask away! You’ve got a friend in me. ~ Lindsey P.
