With regards tp transportation, which is better - Wilderness Lodge or Carribean Beach? How about other differences? Visiting in Jan 2010 and trying to decide which one...

    John,

I would prefer the Wilderness Lodge over the Caribbean Beach for the simple fact that you can boat over to the Magic Kingdom. That also gives you better access to many of the better resort-based restaurants at resorts like the Contemporary (Chef Mickey's, California Grill), the Polynesian ('Ohana), the Grand Floridian (Narcoossee's, 1900 Park Fair), Fort Wilderness (Hoop Dee Doo Review, Mickey's Backyard BBQ), and of course at the Wilderness Lodge (Whispering Canyon Cafe, Artist's Point).

For all other transportation, both resorts use buses. And while Caribbean Beach is more centrally located within the Walt Disney World property, I still think that the Wilderness Lodge is a better overall choice.

I am glad to field any follow-up questions you may have!

    Have a magical vacation!
