Regarding the Keys to the Kingdom and Backstage Magic tours, which spends more time in the Utilidors- or is it the same visit for both tours? Also, is a vegetarian meal available on either tour? Thanks!

    Hi Sue,

I've taken both the Keys to the Kingdom and Backstage Magic tours.

I'd say that the time spent in the utilidors under the Magic Kingdom is equivalent on both tours. However, there are many more unique behind-the-scenes details revealed on the Backstage Magic tour. The tour components change from time to time, but when I enjoyed Backstage Magic about three years ago, I got to see the backstage area at the Tower of Terror to watch the elevator machinery, as well as visit the ride repair and and design shop, and the costume shop. Among the fun sights I saw were cast members styling Cinderella's wigs and a "naked" Jungle Cruise elephant getting fitted for new skin.

In sum, the Magic Kingdom portion of the two tours is somewhat similar, but the Backstage Magic tour visits three of the parks instead of just one, giving a much fuller experience of the magic behind the curtain.

There are vegetarian options available for lunch at both tour restaurant locations. Just make a note of your request when placing your reservation.

    Have a great time!
