Regarding the full marathon on 1/11/09; I read there are no headphones allowed. I always run to music. For those who have run this, are there long boring stretches between Epcot & MK and MK & AK?

Congratulations Patti on all your training that is bringing you to the Disney Marathon!  That is quite a feat!  I have run the half marathon, and yes, like many races, there are long stretches with not too much going on.

What I loved about doing the Disney race was all there is to see. The race starts with fireworks and characters, and running through the parks provided me with much needed distraction. Throughout the course there are people cheering, music playing and characters waving, which certainly helped in  keeping me running!

I have done several half marathons, and the organization, water stations, go huts and nutrition stops were plentiful. But what really struck me as different at the Disney race was the runners. Everyone seemed happier, more talkative and excited than other races. People stopped to pose for pictures in the parks and with the characters. Even the bus ride back when we were all dead (well, I sure was) we were all chatting and excited about our experience.

And when you think you're about to hit the wall, just remember - the coolest race medal ever is waiting for you at the finish line!

Have a great (and magical) race Patti!
