Are there reduced ticket rates for evening entry to the park? We arrive late iin the afternoon on 9/4, so I don't want to waste a full day pass, but would love to take my kids into the park for dinner and to get their wiggles out.

    Hi Melissa,

Unfortunately reduced tickets are not offered for evening entry at any of the WDW theme parks. We've been traveling to WDW with our son since he was two so I completely understand about those wiggles.

First, travel day is usually much more exhausting than you might anticipate. Upon arrival, a swim at your hotel may be the perfect cure for restless kids. Never underestimate the enjoyment of the resort pool to kids.

In addition, just entering a park for dinner may cause more pain than gain. You'd have to bypass all those lines to see characters, attractions, candy stores and more, and by the time you go to the restaurant, you might wonder why you entered the park in the first place.

Here's some of our favorite first night activities:

Swim at the resort pool, then head to dinner at Downtown Disney.
Have dinner at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort and then take a round-trip monorail ride.
Take an evening fireworks cruise from the Grand Floridian.
Head to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Young kids will love the stick pony games during dinner!

Then, get a good night's rest for your first full day of touring. It will be magical!
