Any recommendations for water proof items such as lanyards or phone cases or what to do with personal items while swimming or snorkeling on port adventures. Also what are you required to take with you when you leave the ship in Nassau and Castaway Cay?

Welcome back, Laura! You must have some fun water-related Port Adventures planned for your Disney cruise! There are so many fabulous ones from which to choose. I always go snorkeling at Castaway Cay, but there are so many other snorkeling adventures in the other ports of call too, and of course, a nice dip in the warm Bahamian waters no matter what port of call is a fabulous way to spend the day!

I use a waterproof pouch case for my phone when we sail. It has a lanyard attached so I can wear it around my neck when I'm in the water. I did do a test on it before I was willing to put my phone in it, just to be sure it actually kept all moisture out. There are so many different types out there, but my pouch case is nice because it's not a hard case that I'd leave on all the time, but simply a pouch that clamps closed. They also tend to be less expensive than the hard sided waterproof cases. Do a search for these types of waterproof pouch cases for phones and camera and you'll see a variety of options. Just be sure yours is clear on both sides and made for shooting photos through the plastic.

On water Port Adventures, guests usually leave their items onboard the boat that takes them to the adventure location, or on the beach. I've felt comfortable leaving my items on the beach, especially at Castaway Cay, but I wouldn't bring any really valuable items to be left alone because you just never know. Since my phone is my camera, and it's in the waterproof case on my neck, that makes it super easy to simply leave clothes and towels on a chair and jump in for a swim!

As you disembark the ship in the ports of call, you'll need to scan your Key To The World Card (as will all guests, including kids), and Disney asks that adults carry a photo I.D. as well.

    Have fun planning your cruise!
