Any recommendations for Grand Villas in mid-November? We would need to stay at Old Key West, Saratoga Springs or Animal Kingdom b/c of the size of our group (7 adults and 4 kdis). Has anyone ever booked using someone else's points? TIA

Sounds like you are planning quite the adventure, Alisa!  There's nothing quite like a grand villa at Disney Vacation Club resorts.  It's a fabulous place for the whole family or a large group of friends to gather.  It's so convenient to have the full kitchen and laundry facilities right there in your villa.

In addition to the three Disney resorts you mention, there are others that offer villa accommodations that comfortably house eleven.  Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Boardwalk Villas also have grand villas that accommodate up to twelve guests.  You might want to consider them as well.

So, how are you going to choose between these amazing resorts?  I would say make your pick based on proximity to nearby attractions.  If you want to be close to the Magic Kingdom, then Bay Lake Tower is the best choice.  Proximity to Epcot is a big plus for the Boardwalk.  If nearby shopping is enticing, then choose Old Key West or Saratoga Springs.  Of course, the Animal Kingdom Villas is the best bet if you have fans of safari animals in your travel party.  (If I were making this decision for mid-November, I would try to book a grand villa at the Boardwalk because it would allow you such easy access to all the fun and food during Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival.)

I have never booked a reservation using someone else's points, although I have heard it is quite easy.  Doing so, however, definitely requires making a leap of faith.  The DVC member who owns the points is the one who controls the reservation.  If you pay them for their points and they choose to cancel the reservation, you are out of luck so my advice would be to only rent points from someone you know you can trust.  Even then it would be worth putting your agreement into writing.

Good luck as you plan your fabulous vacation!
