Hello, I would like a recommendation on which resort would be best to stay at for a mixed age group. There will be 6 total, age 5, 21, 44 and 3 folks 65 plus. Looking at mid to deluxe range.

It's always so tough to give resort recommendations, if for no other reason than it's difficult to choose just one to tout!  Since you said you're looking for something in the "mid to deluxe" range, I'm going to use that as an excuse to suggest one of each for your group!

As for a deluxe, I'm going to suggest the Beach Club.  My family of six stayed there a couple of years ago in September and we had a fabulous time.  Guests of all ages will LOVE the pool, while the adults will especially appreciate the proximity to Epcot and it's fine dining opportunities in the World Showcase.  Not only can you walk to Epcot from the Beach Club, but you can also walk over to the Boardwalk Resort area where the entire family can enjoy free evening entertainment including magicians, street performers and the like.  One of our favorite things to do as a group there is rent a surrey bike or enjoy an after dinner ice cream cone.  Resort theming is reminiscent of a lazy beach town on the cape and will certainly call to mind simpler times.  You can't go wrong with a stay at this resort.

In the moderate resort category, I'm a big fan of the cabins at Fort Wilderness, especially for a large group.  The cabins can actually accommodate up to six people in comfy little woodsy homes that feature a full kitchen and a separate bedroom.  That's only the beginning though.  Fort Wilderness is like a little piece of serenity nestled into the bustling world of Disney.  A stay here will lend to a feeling of seclusion for your group, in spite of the fact that you're not at all far removed from the action.  Resort activities like campfire singalongs provide a good old-fashioned option for enjoying some down time.  You're also in prime proximity to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, a family favorite.  A stay at the cabins will be less expensive than one at Disney's Beach Club, but each resort offers a unique experience that won't leave you disappointed.
