Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Holiday

Which would you recommend? Visiting Disney World when it's hot, but less crowded (late August), or when it's cooler, but more crowded (holidays)? I'm trying to figure out which will impact a trip more - crowds or hot weather. Thanks!

    Hi Melanie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your question is an excellent one and certainly has me thinking!

Having been to the Walt Disney World Resort during all four seasons, I can honestly say that we prefer to visit in late July or August. But the heat is REAL. So be prepared. We always survive and have a fabulous time. During this time we can always make Advanced Dining Reservations at our favorite restaurants and we can make our Fast Pass+ reservations for all of the rides we love to ride. In addition, we spend a lot of time at the pool.

Although the weather has generally been warm for us during fall and winter visits, weather can be unpredictable and, at times, it was downright cold. Since we love the pool, we prefer visiting when the outside temperature will not interfere with pool time!

Late July or August actually works well for our family because we celebrate my husband's birthday in July and my mom's birthday in August. We love visiting for these special occasions.  Doing so makes their birthdays unforgettable! Our girls loved requesting a window table at the California Grill the last time we visited during on my husband's birthday. They were so pleased with their success!

Having said this, the winter holidays at the Walt Disney World Resort are spectacular. There is nothing quite as magical as the lighting of Cinderella's castle, hearing the beautiful narrative and music at the Candlelight Processional or seeing Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed for the holidays.

Sending pixie dust your way hoping that you choose the very best dates for your family!
