    Can you recommend where to rent a scooter? I've read the individual park scooter rental is Frist Come first Serve. Also I've read Animal Kingdom is not good for Scooters? Thanks, Jen

    Thanks for bringing your question to the Moms Panel, Jen! We vacationed at Walt Disney World Resort with my mother-in-law several years ago following her transplant surgery. She realized very quickly that spending long days on her feet wasn't going to be conducive to her recovery. After renting an ECV scooter in the park, she had more energy than the rest of at the end of the day!

    For Guests with mobility issues, Electric Conveyance Vehicles are available for rent at all Walt Disney World theme parks as well as Disney Springs, however, as you mentioned, they are available on a first-come, first served basis. Renting an ECV from an Orlando-area company is probably your best bet, as they can be delivered directly to your hotel, and you can ride them on all modes of Walt Disney World transportation as well as at the theme parks. Disney recommends several companies on their website including:

    * Buena Vista Scooter Rentals: 866-484-4797
    * Best Price Scooters and Strollers: 866-866-3434
    * Apple Scooter: 800-701-1971
    * ScooterBug: 800-726-8284

    The My Disney Experience App has information on accessibility for every attraction. Just click on any attraction and look for "Accessibility & Other Information." It will tell you whether you can remain in your ECV, if you'll need to transfer to a standard wheelchair, or if you'll have to walk a short distance. I don't think you'll have any problems maneuvering around Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Don't miss the Festival of the Lion King which is a Broadway-style show that's appropriate for all ages!

    I hope you have an extra magical vacation, Jen!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
