Do you recommend getting a FP for rivers of light? Gonna be there May 11 2017. If we don't, when is a good time to get in line for the show? On line says show starts at 9:15. Thanks!

    Hi Rita!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. While I haven't experienced Rivers of Light yet myself, I know plenty of folks that have and their insight has helped me weigh a couple options.

Your first option is to make a FastPass+ reservation for the show. The pro to this is that there is reserved seating that gives you a great view! The con is that even with a FastPass + reservation, seating is based on a first come first serve basis and you are not necessarily guaranteed a seat. For a FastPass+ reservation it is recommended that you show up between 30-60 minutes prior to the show. This also prevents you from using your "bonus" FastPass+ while you are in the parks. For any day you are entitled to 3 FastPass+ in a single park. Once you have used these up, you can log in to your My Disney Experience mobile app and book a bonus! With a FastPass+ for a show late at night though, you will miss out on this opportunity. If this show is a high priority for you though, which I certainly don't want to miss it, this is still a good option!

Your second option is to wait in the standby line. The pro to this is you'll still get your bonus FastPass+, but the con is it's not a premium viewing location, nor are you guaranteed a seat. For standby entry it is recommended arriving 60-90 minutes prior.

Your third option is to make a reservation for a Rivers of Light Dining Package. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, this one is a no-brainer because the Dining Package does not use any more credits than a normal meal! How this works is you'll reserve the Dining Package and then receive a voucher for the show at your meal! These Guests should arrive 15-35 minutes prior.
