We were recently in WDW in Dec 2012. We are planning on visiting WDW with our extended family the middle of April 2013. What are the crowds like during that time since we've been spoiled by going before Christmas?

    Lisa,

Yes, going to Walt Disney World in early December can spoil us. The great decorations, the low crowd sizes, all of it!

Early and mid-April can be very busy. The real hook here is when Easter falls. In 2012 it was around April 8th. That lead to the large March crowds carrying over into the first half of April.

However in 2013 Easter is pegged to arrive on March 31. That means that the later in April that you push off your vacation, the better chances you will have of experiencing smaller crowds. Now I am not talking about early-December level crowds. But you should find that the crowds from around April 15 and forward are significantly more manageable than earlier in the month.

On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being most crowded) I would say that late April is like a 2 1/2, mid April is like a 3 or 3 1/2, and early April is a full 5.

I hope that helps? Don't let the larger crowds scare you into thinking you will be packed at all times. A little planning and you will be fine! Write me back for more planning tips!

    Have a magical vacation!
