Hi, have recently been reading about the new upgraded laundry rooms at the resorts, and see that they now take credit cards. How does it work for DVC members who get free use of the machines? We are on a 3 week trip in a studio, so definatly be using it.

    Hi Karen!

A three week holiday to the Walt Disney World Resort sounds lovely! You are very wise to plan to use the complimentary laundry for Disney Vacation Club Members during your stay. This is a wonderful perk for Members staying in Deluxe Studios, and many Members I think are unaware of this benefit.

You are correct that the laundry rooms at all Disney Resorts have undergone a recent renovation. New, more modern washers and dryers have been installed. The best part about these new machines is that you can use your smart phone to know when your machine is done, and if there are machines open and ready to use! Laundry rooms are still complimentary for Disney Vacation Club Members who are staying on Vacation Points.

Depending on what resort you are staying at, there may be a different laundry room you need to use. Resorts that have both standard resort rooms as well as Disney Vacation Club rooms, such as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, will usually have a separate laundry room specifically for Disney Vacation Club Members. You’ll need your Magic Band to access that room. At resorts that are exclusively Deluxe Villas, such as Disney’s Old Key West, all laundry rooms should be accessible to Members. You will not need to use your credit card to access these machines, unless you need to purchase laundry soap.

I hope this information is helpful, Karen. Please let me know if there are any other questions I can help you with before your trip.

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
