Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

I’ve recently learned about the Goodnight Kiss from scrolling through questions & want to catch it on our next trip. If park closing is 9 and Happily Ever After starts at 9 when would the Kiss be since OUAT is usually a half hour after the fireworks?

Hi, Alicia! Thanks for bringing another great question to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I first stumbled upon the “Kiss Goodnight” at Magic Kingdom Park four years ago during my daughter’s birthday trip to Walt Disney World Resort and have been fortunate enough to see it each trip since. It’s such a magical conclusion to a magical day at The Most Magical Place on Earth! Although it’s only two minutes long, it leaves me with chills every time the music swells and the chorus belts out “when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.”

I looked at the pictures and videos I’ve taken over the years and each is time stamped at 15 minutes past the hour. While the actual times vary based on the Park’s closing, 15 minutes past seems to be the standard. If Happily Ever After is scheduled for 9 p.m., I would assume the first iteration of The Kiss Goodnight would occur at 10:15 p.m. (I have been there well past closing, though, and I can tell you from experience that it does loop again later in the evening--sometimes as early as 15 minutes later!)

To close out your evening at Magic Kingdom Park, make sure you’re somewhere near the hub at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. (closest to Cinderella Castle) 10-12 minutes after the official Park closing time (or 30 minutes after Once Upon a Time). When were there last Friday night, we had a great view from from the fountain area in front of Casey’s Corner. The Park officially closed at 9 p.m. (Happily Ever After was at 8 p.m.), and at the stroke of 9:15 the “Kiss” began.

Hopefully you’ll have the opportunity to experience this “magical gathering of family, friends, fun and fantasy” the next time you visit Magic Kingdom Park.

    Best wishes!
