I recently had a friend who went on a family vacation and her kids got horribly sick. What sort of services are available for families who are staying in the resorts should they need a doctor or medical care?

    Hi Betsy!

Thank you so much for your question!  Centra Care offers a shuttle that will transfer guests to a nearby urgent care facility.  The parks also have First Aid stations that are staffed with nurses that can help evaluate minor maladies and arrange for a shuttle pick up as well.  They accept many insurance plans.

There's also in-room medical care available for Disney Resorts, but there are restrictions on what they can do for kids in-room.  They'll also require direct payment out of pocket, and you'll have to submit that claim to your insurance company.

Getting sick on vacation is no fun!  Thankfully, there are plenty of rather convenient options, and it's always great to be prepared!

    Thanks again for your question!

    Have a magical vacation!
