In a recent answer I received from one of your wonderful panelists, I was told that I could view MK fireworks from the 4th floor observation deck without a dinner reservation at California Grill (as I was unable to obtain in time) Is this true?

Hi Rae! Indeed the 4th Floor Observation Deck at the Contemporary Resort is a spot where you can view the Magic Kingdom fireworks. It is not associated with the California Grill which also has an outdoor observation area which is restricted to those guests with reservations in the restaurant.

Many guests enjoy the short walk over to the Magic Kingdom park to view the fireworks just outside the entrance as you can do this without going into the park. When it is over you are first on the ferry, monorail, bus, or just walking back to the Contemporary. The 4th floor observation deck is not the very best place to watch so you might consider doing something just outside the park or the resort. There is some obstruction on the deck from the monorail as the show is at an angle but if you are there for another reason then it can work to at least get a shot at viewing of the show.
