Hi! We just received our Magic Bands and want to decorate them. I bought some beads I would like to use but they are fairly thick. Does the Mickey logo in the center of the band need to TOUCH THE SENSORS in order to work? My beads may be too big!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Margery!

You must be so excited to have received your MagicBands! That means that you are one step closer to your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I have many friends who decorate their MagicBands with various materials: stickers, vinyl, and even nail polish! I have heard of some Guests decorating with nail polish and having issues with the touch stations recognizing their MagicBand, so I would leave the center Mickey logo clear of any decor so that it can touch the sensor. If you are planning on adding beads, I would suggest not to have any near that area, again so that the Mickey can touch the sensors. My personal preference is to pick up a special Disney Character MagicBand which are sold at most merchandise locations, although I currently have my eye on the new millennial pink MagicBand to match my rose gold Minnie Mouse headband!

If you haven’t already done so, make sure to make your FastPass+ Reservations, which can be done up to 60 days before your arrival! Wishing you a truly pixie dusted vacation full of lasting memories! Please stop by and see us again soon,
