I just received my annual pass (certificate card) in the mail. How do I go about getting a magic band and does it cost anything?

    Hello Tracy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for your question!  How exciting that you're now an Annual Passholder!  I purchased my first Annual Pass this year and have loved every minute of the year so far.

Your Annual Pass will be activated when you use it for the first time at Walt Disney World.  When you arrive, just visit a theme park ticket window or Downtown Disney Guest Relations with your certificate and a valid photo ID to take care of that.  Once your Annual Pass has been activated, the clock will start ticking on your year and you'll be able to go on My Disney Experience to customize and order the complimentary MagicBand that comes along with your Annual Pass.  That does mean you won't have the MagicBand at the time of that first visit, but you can always purchase one before you arrive through the Disney Parks online store or once you're in the park.

Also, before that first visit, you'll want to be sure your Annual Pass is linked to your My Disney Experience account (using that certificate if it wasn't automatically linked when you made your purchase) so that you can make your FastPass+ selections in advance.

Wishing you a year full of magic and pixie dust, Tracy!  Please visit us again if we can help answer any other questions.
