Hi, This is a really dumb question.I have read about tipping the housekeeping, I have never done this before. The only time I have stayed in a hotel for longer than a night was last time at wdw and on a cruise.how much do you tip, leave it everyday vs end?

    Hi Daphne!

Not a dumb question at all! I think tipping housekeeping in a hotel is something that isn't as well known now as it used to be.

I love to educate people about this little known tipping process!  The Mousekeepers, as we call the housekeepers in Disney World work SO hard to keep our rooms beautiful and fresh so a tip lets them know we appreciate them!

While there are no real 'rules' to this, a common method that people use is to tip $1 per person staying in the room, per day.  Now, if you have a bunch of people it is perfectly fine to leave $2 per day in a moderate resort and $3 to $5 per day in a luxury Resort instead of the per person method.

If you leave the tip in an envelope that is clearly marked for Mousekeeping every day then you ensure that the person who actually cleaned or freshened your room that day is getting the tip. If you leave it at the end that might not happen. If you have kids you can get them involved by letting them decorate the envelope!  Also, if you Google 'Mousekeeping envelopes' you will come across some fun printable envelopes that you can use in Disney!

    Have a fantastic time!!
