Can we really bring outside food i.e.. sandwiches & re-usable water containers inside the 2 themed park? During our last visit, the staff told us we cannot bring our snack inside. But that was 5yrs ago.

    Greetings Anna!
Judging by your question, you're planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth after a five-year hiatus!
If that's the case, I'm excited to share you'll be able to enjoy several new attractions and features at the Disneyland Resort!
For one, the Disney MaxPass Service arrived over the summer with huge success. MaxPass allows you to make FASTPASS reservations for your favorite attractions directly from the Disneyland Mobile App on your phone!
The nighttime presentation Fantasmic! returned to the Rivers of America with new Magical additions and enhancements.
Over at Disney's California Adventure, the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride is every thrill-seeker's dream come true!
All this to say, I am convinced you'll have a Magical time when you return!
In terms of outside food, you can certainly bring snacks and other items that don't require heating (since there aren't any public microwaves available).  Personally, I always pack fruit, pretzels, juice pouches and other snacks for my boys. I've also seen families bring homemade sandwiches, chips and bottled water stored inside small coolers.
As long as you don't bring any glass containers or coolers larger than a six-pack size, Cast members will have no problem with your outside food items.
As a reminder, the Disneyland Resort has some delicious dining options which can make your experience extra memorable. Those include the delicious hand-dipped corn dogs from the Little Red Wagon and the juicy turkey legs found at several food carts throughout the resort.
My favorite snacks include churros, Dole Whip cold treats, a commemorative bucket of buttery popcorn and delicious candy apples... Mmmm. I'm getting hungry now!
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
    Have a Magical Time,
    -Anabel M.
