Reading one of your answers sparked a question about the tips with parties of 6. Going w/ my family of 4 and my parents will be there and eating some meals with us. 2 seperate dining plans but one reservation (or table for 6) how will the tips work?

    Hi Jill,

I just reconfirmed my information with a cast member from Disney Dining Reservations and she did confirm that 18% gratuity is automatically applied to your bill with dining parties of 6 or more guests.  On to your scenario (which is a good question...by the way!), if you are 6 people eating at one table then you will be under one reservation and it does not matter how you want to split it or whether there are 2 separate dining plans being used, you are still classified as a party of 6 and the 18%gratuity will be automatically applied to your bill!  The only way around this would be to make 2 separate reservations and sit at 2 different tables in order to not have the gratuity automatically applied to the bill.  I know that you will probably all want to be together as a group, but that would be the only way around this situation with two reservations instead of one.  Sorry if you were expecting better news, but the good news is that you will all be together on vacation at "The Happiest Place On Earth"...you can't beat that!

    Best wishes,
