Hi- have been reading about the key to the world passes and some people bringing lanyards with them to wear. Would you need one for every member of the family (2 kids-10,7) and do you need a plastic cover or is there a hole in the pass?

    Hi Angela,

When you check in at your Disney World Resort you'll be given a credit card sized card called the Key to the World. This will contain all of your hotel room information and also your park tickets and dining plan credits if you have them. They don't have a hole in them and you shouldn't add a hole as they won't go through the turnstiles properly. As you say lots of people use lanyards to keep them safe, Disney sells lots of lanyards with a clear plastic card holder on the end just for this job, any lanyard from home would be fine though. I personally don't like wearing a lanyard as it aggravates my neck and last time I was at Disney I found this great clear card holder on a stretchy string which is attached to a clip that I attach to my belt, it was about $6, it's almost like a ski lift pass holder where it extends, and was very convenient to use.

As your children are quite young I suggest you do what I do and become chief card holder, I keep all the cards in my pouch which makes it very easy to then get fast passes for everyone. I only need to hand them out as we enter the parks and I don't have to worry that my children will lose their cards! I also store my fast passes in the same pouch until we use them so I know where everything is.

Hope that helps and you have a great trip,

    Jo
